STEPHEN WOZNIAK and STEVE JOBS

Stephen Wozniak was born, in 1950, in California, and is the founder of Apple Inc.  He graduated at the University of California at Berkeley.  After dropping out, he went to work for Hewlett-Packard, and in his spare time he would work with other computer enthusiasts in Palo Alto at the Homebrew Computer Club.  Steven Jobs, also of Hewlett-Packard, began attending meetings of the club in 1975 and persauded Woznaik to work with him on a computer design.  Together they designed the prototype of the Apple I, a preassembled computer circuit board, In Job's parents' garage.  A electronics equipment retailer placed an order for 25 of the machines, and Jobs and Wozniak were in business.  Wozniak quit his job to become vice president for the new venture, and Jobs arranged for credit from suppliers.  On April 1st 1976, the Apple Computer Company (now Apple Inc.) was founded.  The first machine, the Apple I, priced at 666.00, sold 600 units to electronic enthusiasts and hobbyists.  Shortly after, they introduced the Apple II, which kept much of the simplicity and compactness of the earlier model but was more suited to the general user.  In 1977, Apple was successful in becoming incorporated.  Now Apple is a major company in USA.
